Clear Water Scrubbers Algae Scrubber
Clear Water Scrubbers algae scrubbers are water filtering devices that use LED light to grow algae and remove unwanted chemicals from the water. Algae scrubbers have the ability to naturally filter saltwater and freshwater aquariums the same way oceans and lakes do. The benefits of running an algae scrubber include: reduced daily upkeep, reduced water changes, cleaner water, and more radiant fish and corals.
The algae scrubbers allow algae to grow, but the algae grows inside of the filter and outside of your aquarium. Generally, the scrubbers move water swiftly over the illuminated area which then causes algae to grow rapidly. The algae then consumes nutrients that typically cause bothersome to grow and/or cause other problems in tanks.
Not only is the algae scrubber very easily installed, the daily upkeep and cleaning is quite simple. The recommended timing to clean the scrubber is every 7 to 21 days, when the scrubber is black, when the algae fills up the scrubber, or when nutrient levels begin to increase.
