By now, you may have heard about the Waveline DC series controllable pumps. Waveline is currently manufacturing the very popular DC3000, DC5000 and DC10000 controllable direct current pumps but there is something new in the works that we would like to share with you.
Waveline is currently developing their new series of DC controllable pumps. These models are similar to the current models but with some upgraded features and specs. First, lets take a look at the specifications of the current models:

Ok, why come out with different options for an already exceptional pump? Well here are some reason:
1. The Waveline DC6000, 12000 and 20000 (yes 20,000 liters per hour or 5280 GPH max flow) now offer 1-10 volt connectivity to your favorite aquarium controller (for us that's the Neptune Apex) via 2 x RJ45 jacks master and and slave signals. With 2 signals multiple Waveline pumps can be controlled by one master controller.
2. The IC chip has been removed from the motor block and integrated into the controller allowing the user to upgrade the pump via software enhancements
3. The impeller design has gone from an open stye design to a closed design that will increase water flow and head pressure for higher head pressure applications.
4. More narrow body design for a smaller overall footprint.
5. Heat dissipation fins to keep the pump running as cool as possible.
6. Better volute seal for external applications ( the current DC5000 and DC10000 models can run externally with the use of the free external gasket).
7. Adjustable speed dial for fine tuning the pump speed.
8. USB connectivity for other devices such as float switches, or a photo sensor for night time water flow adjustment.
9. Imperial output fittings for hard pipe plumbing or standard hose barb fittings like the current models.
10. And last but not least, it's really cool and probably the best pump value on the market.
