UPS and FedEx automation systems are not always gentle on heavy products like this therefore the product insurable.  There is some inherent risk with shipping rock like this and it is impossible to replace or refund broken pieces.  If damage occurs in shipping then most pieces can be repaired with epoxy and the material is colored all the wat through so damages will not be as noticeable.
