Octopus Super Sump Saver Skimmers

The Reef Octopus Professional Open Volute “POV” protein skimmers are the ultimate when it comes to space saver skimmers and will be available from CoralVue dealers in January of 2013. The soft start DC pinwheel pump provides both controllable water delivery and air induction to the protein skimmer. This allows users to select from six preset RPMs tune the skimmers performance on push button demand. The pump also features a unique 10 minute feed/service shutoff timer which restarts after 10 minutes. The unique feature of these POV skimmers is the pumps volute is integrated within the body of the skimmer to reduce the amount of space taken up by the skimmer pump. Learn More

The use of our Bubble Blaster pump include a 3 year warranty. We also offer 2 other SRO skimmer designs to meet any design want or space limitations you may have.

The SSS stands for Super Sump Saver. This model incorporates all the same benefits of the SRO design but has the pump built into the bottom of the skimmer which allows for a much smaller footprint inside the sump. The SRO design is to incorporate a bubble plate diffuser in a cylinder acrylic tube which then transitions to a cone riser into the neck. This means less turbulence in the neck area and more contact time for organic debris to rise and spill into the collection cup. Some key features are over sized acrylic silencers for noise reductions, gate valves for precision water setting and control, and drains on the collection cups.
