Orphek is CE RoSH certificated and it has a unique design, specially designed for coral reef growth in aquarium. It works quietly and it is environmental friendly. It doesn't make the temperature of the aquarium go up, so there is no need heat-removal equipment - no costly chiller needed!

Orphek Nilus is exclusively developed for SPS reef aquariums and other high intensity applications. The Nilus has been upgraded from previous PR156 models with a new premium dimmable LED driver. To reduce noise while increasing air flow, the fans have also been upgraded. Finally, Orphek has customized the Nilus by offering 4 UV/true violet and 4 Red emitters for more fluorescence and increased color enhancement in your corals.

The Orphek Difference

Apples to apples comparison doesn't work with our product when compared to other LED products, and here's why:

We use our own diode, developed after two years of research that is spectrally superior, more efficient, and emits a greater percentage of light as photosynthetically useable radiation than do the Cree or Luxeon diodes offered by other LED fixtures.  We then outfit the diodes with a lens from an advanced optical company that greatly reduces water surface refraction and reflection so that more light makes it to your coral. We use only high quality and precision power supplies, drivers, PCBs, and components, as well as gold plated connectors and electronics that are completely water sealed.  The best part is that every part is produced and supervised in-house: no cheaply made, mass produced electronics whatsoever!  No other manufacturer or fixture offers these benefits, and our PR-156 is the only LED solution that is truly a replacement for hot and expensive 400w metal halide lighting.  

If you take apart any other LED unit on the market today, you can see that after 2-4 years many units on the market will most likely begin to corrode; and you can see that all use mass produced, inferior PCBs, drivers, electronics, etc that will lose efficiency quickly, often 30% in the first 2-4 years.  If you take apart one of our units, you will see the sealing, the gold plated connectors, superior PCBs, a full length active cooled heatsink, and under-driven LEDs for a vastly increased lifespan (10-15 years) at near 100% output.

Orphek uses two high quality digital timers with battery backup. One timer controls the main lights, and, one timer controls the moonlights. Each timer has 16 memory programs. This way, our clients using more than one Orphek Light Solution can simulate sunrise and sunset.
