We felt that a secure lid that seals to the barrel with an o-ring would be a better way to protect against spills compared to the loose lid designs found elsewhere. Also, since the primary use of these containers is for two-part calcium & alkalinity solutions which are used in equal proportions, we opted for the space-saving and stability-enhancing twin barrel design.
